Simple Steps to Smooth and Shiny Kitchen Interiors

Kitchen resurfacing is a job that many homeowners are hesitant to undertake themselves. The task of removing cabinet doors, sanding down the surface, and painting can seem intimidating without professional assistance. However, with these simple steps you’ll have your kitchen looking like new in no time!

First, remove the cabinet doors and all of the hardware. This includes the knobs, pulls, and hinges. Be careful not to damage the surface of the cabinets while you are removing these pieces.

Next, sand down the surface of the cabinets using a medium-grit sandpaper. Be sure to wear a dust mask to avoid breathing in any particles. If you don’t have a dust mask, you can also cover the mouth and nose with a bandana. You may want to invest in some eye protection as well to avoid getting any sawdust particles in your eyes.

Once the cabinets are sanded, wipe off all of the dust using a damp cloth. If there are areas that are particularly dusty or grimy, use soap and water instead of just water alone. This will help remove tough stains that have built up on top of your cabinets without damaging them! Once everything is clean and dry it’s time to paint! Use either spray paint for an easier application process or brush-on paint if you prefer more control over how much paint goes onto each surface area at once.. Either way be sure not to skimp on the paint! You’ll want at least two coats for a durable finish.

Once the paint is dry, reattach all of the hardware to your cabinets. Be sure to screw everything in tightly so that it doesn’t come loose over time. Replace the cabinet doors and admire your new kitchen!
